Description
A very special image from my large collection of Wawona Tree photographs, and showing a 1940 Pontiac station wagon, ‘Woodie,’ surrounded by four generations of an extended American family. Best guess, although I cannot say for certain, this is a 4th Of July family vacation image, and beautifully staged for this terrific and memorable family portrait. This is also the only photograph in my Wawona collection, so far anyway, that portrays a ‘Woodie.’
I am still actively collecting images of the Wawona Tree. I have acquired these images over a period of more than twenty years, some through the original families and private parties, some through garage sales, some from antique stores, and a large number via the internet. Some have attribution and information; unfortunately, most images have come to me without any corresponding information.
I plan to add new, framed, Wawona images to my website offerings as time permits, perhaps one a month? Each framed project takes a good deal of time to assemble. Check back form time to time to see what is new.
The frame size for this offering is 21″ x 24″ with the exact image size at 11-1/2″x 16-1/.” Andiroba mahogany frames. Museum mounted with double thickness, beveled, window mats. A very fine presentation. Lifetime, archival, pigment print.
