An amazing image of a juxtaposition of signs along Van Nuys Boulevard, at the corner of Delano Street, downtown. Continental Airlines, ‘A new expression of our pride.’ Hard to beat that statement. Just one of quite a number of sign images I made while shooting this series, and certainly one of the best. I have always wondered whether these folks actively coordinated the installation of this collection of signs. Perhaps not so much for Schaya’s Upholstering Supplies… the store was a stalwart for automotive interior materials and was there for years.
